Manta Ray Mounts. Manta Ray occur throughout all tropical waters of the world and prefer areas surrounding coral reefs. The Manta Ray is the largest of the rays, with a maximum wingspan of up to 25-feet and a weight of over 5,000-pounds. Manta rays are filter feeders--that is--they feed primarily on plankton which is filtered from the water as they swim. Mantas are known to often swim alongside scuba divers.
